She Almost Filmed Her Own Death

The film clip is only 40 seconds long, but it's already a contender for the scariest car crash video ever.

And amazingly, the driver who filmed a six-foot long plank flying through her windscreen on her phone camera, escaped without a scratch.

Since Wendy Cobb posted it on YouTube there have been a million views of the terrifying moment the piece of wood struck her Kia Sedona minivan.

Scary: The wheels of the trailer in front are filmed hitting the wooden plank on the side of the road..

... sending the 6ft long plank rocketing towards the minivan driven by Wendy Cobb in Shelby, North Carolina...

....before it smashes through the windscreen. Astonishingly, Wendy was unscathed by the incident

The heart-stopping drama came as 40-year-old Wendy drove alone along the highway in Shelby, North Carolina on April 1.

But the incident which has been confirmed by local police, was no joke for her.

She told Jalopnik: 'I don't know why I didn't scream or cuss or cry, I guess just pure shock. I could barely form words to call 911.'

Wendy was filming the illegal antics of two two trucks playing 'cat and mouse' and holding up traffic when the accident.

She had intended to send the footage to the truck companies owners.

For 32 seconds the film calmly follows the vehicles until the one with a trailer hits the plank - one of several lying by the road - and it rockets through her screen.

Jalopnik quoted Wendy: 'When the truck in front of me hit it, and then his trailer hit it, it just propelled it into me.

'I most definitely know how lucky I was. Damage was mostly the hood and windshield, again, very lucky.'
